                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," requiring school districts to publish
     6     and make available at school office a copy of any proposed
     7     contract with professional employes at least 28 days prior to
     8     taking official action.

     9     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    10  hereby enacts as follows:
    11     Section 1.  The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
    12  as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
    13  section to read:
    14     Section 1121.1  Publication and Display of Proposed
    15  Professional Employe Contract.--(a)  Every school district shall
    16  cause a complete copy of any agreement concerning a proposed
    17  professional employe contract to be published in a newspaper of
    18  general circulation within the school district at least twenty-
    19  eight (28) days prior to taking any official action on it. The
    20  school district shall also make at least one copy available for


     1  public inspection in a school district office during the twenty-
     2  eight (28) day period preceding official action on the proposed
     3  agreement.
     4     (b)  Any official action taken by any school district in
     5  violation of subsection (a) shall be void.
     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
