AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, IN SENATE, MARCH 16, 1998
AN ACT 1 Amending Titles TITLE 18 (Crimes and Offenses) and 75 (Vehicles) <-- 2 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for the 3 offense of unauthorized school bus entry.; and further <-- 4 providing for the penalty for violation of the duty of a 5 driver when approaching a school bus displaying flashing red 6 signal lights. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 10 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: 11 § 5516 5517. Unauthorized school bus entry. <-- 12 (a) Offense defined.--A person who enters a school bus 13 without prior authorization of the driver or a school official 14 with intent to commit a crime or disrupt or interfere with the 15 driver or a person who enters a school bus without prior
1 authorization of the driver or a school official who refuses to 2 disembark after being ordered to do so by the driver commits a 3 misdemeanor of the third degree. 4 (b) Notice.--A school district may place a notice at the 5 entrance of the school bus that warns against unauthorized 6 entry. 7 Section 2. Section 3345(j) of Title 75 is amended to read: <-- 8 § 3345. Meeting or overtaking school bus. 9 * * * 10 (j) Penalty.--[Any person violating] A person who violates 11 subsection (a) or (f.1) [is guilty of] commits a summary offense 12 and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of [$100] 13 $500. 14 Section 3 2.
