AMENDMENTS TO SENATE AMENDMENTS, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
JUNE 9, 1997
AN ACT
1 Designating a certain bridge on SR 0011 over the West Branch of
2 the Susquehanna River connecting Point Township,
3 Northumberland County, and Monroe Township, Snyder County, as
4 the Barry A. King Memorial Bridge; designating a certain
5 bridge on SR 2028 in Mifflin Township and South Centre
6 Township, Columbia County, as the Mifflin-South Centre
7 Veterans Memorial Bridge; and designating a certain bridge in <--
8 the Borough of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, as the
9 Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge; AND TRANSFERRING <--
10 ROADS BETWEEN OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ADAMS COUNTY, AND THE
11 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
12 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
13 hereby enacts as follows:
14 Section 1. Barry A. King Memorial Bridge.
15 (a) The bridge over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River
16 which carries SR 0011 from Point Township, Northumberland County
17 to Monroe Township, Snyder County, is hereby designated and
18 shall be known as the Barry A. King Memorial Bridge.
19 (b) The Department of Transportation shall erect and
20 maintain signs which shall display the name of Barry A. King
21 Memorial Bridge at each end of the bridge so designated in
1 subsection (a).
2 Section 2. Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge.
3 (a) The bridge located on SR 2028 at Station 17+27.1 in
4 Mifflin Township and at Station 34+17.96 in South Centre
5 Township, Columbia County, is hereby designated and shall be
6 known as the Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge.
7 (b) The Department of Transportation shall erect and
8 maintain signs which shall display the name of the Mifflin-South
9 Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge so designated in subsection (a).
10 Section 3. Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge.
11 (a) The bridge carrying Winola Road (SR 4024) over railroad
12 tracks, situated in the Borough of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna
13 County, shall hereafter be known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars
14 Memorial Bridge.
15 (b) The Department of Transportation shall erect appropriate
16 signs to indicate this designation.
17 SECTION 4. ROAD ADOPTED. <--
18 THE FOLLOWING ROAD IS HEREBY ADOPTED AS A STATE HIGHWAY:
19 APPLER ROAD (T-500), APPROXIMATELY 1,600 FEET, IN OXFORD
20 TOWNSHIP, ADAMS COUNTY.
21 SECTION 5. ROAD VACATED.
22 THE FOLLOWING ROAD IS HEREBY VACATED AS A STATE ROADWAY AND
23 TRANSFERRED TO OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ADAMS COUNTY: HANOVER ROAD (SR
24 1015) SEGMENT 10 OFFSET 022050, FROM INTERSECTION WITH SR 94 TO
25 INTERSECTION WITH T-500.
26 Section 4 6. Effective date. <--
27 This act shall take effect immediately.
