                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 8, 1919 (P.L.148, No.102), entitled "An
     2     act providing for the joint acquisition and maintenance by
     3     the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey
     4     of certain toll-bridges over the Delaware River," adding
     5     members of the commission.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 2 of the act of May 8, 1919 (P.L.148,
     9  No.102), entitled "An act providing for the joint acquisition
    10  and maintenance by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the
    11  State of New Jersey of certain toll-bridges over the Delaware
    12  River," amended February 26, 1925 (P.L.3, No.2), is amended to
    13  read:
    14     Section 2.  [The Auditor General, State Treasurer, and
    15  Secretary of Highways of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and
    16  two citizens of the Commonwealth to be appointed by the
    17  Governor,] (a)  The State Treasurer, the Secretary of
    18  Transportation, three public members and up to two ex officio
    19  members, none of whom shall serve concurrently in an elected


     1  Federal or State office, who shall be nominated by the Governor
     2  and subject to confirmation by a majority of the members elected
     3  to the Senate are hereby constituted a commission to act in
     4  conjunction with a similar commission of the State of New
     5  Jersey, as a joint commission for the acquisition of the various
     6  toll-bridges over the Delaware River between the Commonwealth of
     7  Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.
     8     (b)  Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, no
     9  member of the commission shall be deemed to have forfeited nor
    10  shall forfeit the member's office or employment or any benefits
    11  or emolument thereof by reason of the member's service as an ex
    12  officio member of the commission.
    13     Section 2.  This act shall apply upon the enactment into law
    14  by the State of New Jersey of legislation adding two members
    15  from the State of New Jersey to the commission, but if the State
    16  of New Jersey has already enacted such legislation, this act
    17  shall apply immediately.
    18     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
