A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring Foster F. Diebold, president of Edinboro University,
2 for his service as its president.
3 WHEREAS, Foster F. Diebold, after having served as the
4 president of Edinboro University for 17 years, will retire at
5 the end of June 1996; and
6 WHEREAS, Foster F. Diebold became president of Edinboro State
7 College in 1979; and
8 WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of President Diebold,
9 Edinboro State College became part of the Pennsylvania State
10 System of Higher Education in 1983; and
11 WHEREAS, Since joining Pennsylvania's State System of Higher
12 Education, Edinboro University has become a premier academic
13 institution in this Commonwealth; and
14 WHEREAS, President Diebold deserves much of the credit for
15 transforming Edinboro University into the fine institution that
16 it has become; and
17 WHEREAS, President Diebold's retirement is a fitting occasion
1 to honor him for his years of service to Edinboro University,
2 for his leadership in State, national and international academic
3 communities and for his contributions to the students and
4 graduates of Edinboro University and the citizens of this
5 Commonwealth; therefore be it
6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor President
7 Foster F. Diebold on his retirement and wish him well in his
8 retirement and future endeavors.
