        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 18, 1995

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of November 5 through November 11, 1995, as
     2     "National Chemistry Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The American Chemical Society is the largest
     4  professional organization of its type in the United States. Its
     5  membership of 150,000 includes scientists from industry, public
     6  and private educational institutions, nonprofit organizations
     7  and government agencies; and
     8     WHEREAS, During the week of November 5 through November 11,
     9  1995, the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society
    10  and many leading companies and universities in southeastern
    11  Pennsylvania are sponsoring a series of events to enhance public
    12  awareness about the crucial role that chemistry plays in
    13  everyday life; therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the


     1  week of November 5 through November 11, 1995, as "National
     2  Chemistry Week" in Pennsylvania and urge all of the residents of
     3  this Commonwealth to learn more about the role of chemistry in
     4  our everyday life.
