AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 6, 1984 (P.L.614, No.127), entitled "An
2 act establishing the fees to be charged and received by
3 sheriffs," further providing for certain additional fees.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Sections 4(b) and 6(b) of the act of July 6, 1984
7 (P.L.614, No.127), known as the Sheriff Fee Act, are amended to
8 read:

11 (b) Additional fees.--Except under subsection (a)(8), the
12 sheriff shall receive as an official fee a commission, based
13 upon the total amount bid for the property, whether paid to the
14 sheriff or credited to the purchaser, of 2% of the first
15 $250,000 and of 0.5% of the remaining amount. This commission
16 shall be calculated solely on the amount of the actual proceeds
17 of the sale and not on the amount of the judgment.

4 (b) Additional fees.--The sheriff shall receive as an
5 official fee a commission, based upon the total amount bid for
6 the property, whether paid to the sheriff or credited to the
7 purchaser, of 2% of the first $100,000 and of 0.5% of the
8 remaining amount. This commission shall be calculated solely on
9 the amount of the actual proceeds OF THE SALE and not on the <--
10 amount of the judgment.
11 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
