AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for carrying
3 firearms in public areas in certain cities.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 6108 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 6108. Carrying firearms on public streets or public property
9 in [Philadelphia] cities of the first class and
10 second class.
11 No person shall carry a firearm, rifle or shotgun at any time
12 upon the public streets or upon any public property in a city of
13 the first class or a city of the second class unless:
14 (1) such person is licensed to carry a firearm; or
15 (2) such person is exempt from licensing under section
16 6106(b) of this title (relating to firearms not to be carried
17 without a license).
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
