AS RE-REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS, HOUSE OF

AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for exemptions from the motorbus
3 road tax.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 9804 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
8 § 9804. Exemptions.
9 The requirements of this chapter do not apply to the
10 following motorbuses:
11 * * *
12 (4) A motorbus owned and registered to:
13 (i) A nonprofit youth center, YOUTH CAMP OR <--
14 NONPUBLIC SCHOOL.
15 (ii) The American Red Cross.
16 (iii) A church.
1 (iv) The Girl Scouts of America.
2 (v) The Boy Scouts of America.
3 (vi) The Salvation Army.
4 (vii) A duly chartered post of national veterans'
5 organizations.
6 (viii) The Young Men's Christian Association.
7 (ix) The Young Men's Hebrew Association.
8 (x) The Young Women's Christian Association.
9 (xi) The Young Women's Hebrew Association.
10 (xii) A Jewish community center.
11 (xiii) A nonprofit corporation of musical marching
12 groups of youths.
13 (xiv) A nonprofit organization which cares for or
14 otherwise provides services for the elderly or the
15 infirm.
16 (xv) A nonprofit organization which principally
17 serves persons with a mental or physical handicap or
18 disability.
19 Section 2. The amendment of 75 Pa.C.S. § 9804 shall be
20 retroactive to August 10, 1992.
21 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
