                                     AN ACT

     1  Setting certain qualifications for the Office of Constable.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4  Section 1.  Constables not to have committed certain crimes.
     5     No person shall be eligible to hold the Office of Constable
     6  in the Commonwealth who has been convicted under 18 Pa.C.S. Ch.
     7  35 (relating to burglary and other criminal intrusion), 39
     8  (relating to theft and related offenses) or the equivalent law
     9  of any other state or jurisdiction.
    10  Section 2.  Effective date.
    11     This act shall take effect immediately.
