                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for improperly equipped motor
     3     vehicles.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4107 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 4107.  Unlawful activities.
     9     * * *
    10     (e)  Waiver of fine.--If a person receives a citation issued
    11  by the proper authority for violation of subsection (b)(2), a
    12  district justice, magistrate or judge shall dismiss the charges
    13  if the person, prior to or at the hearing, displays evidence of
    14  correction of the equipment problem to the district justice,
    15  magistrate or judge. Sufficient evidence shall include a receipt
    16  mailed to the appropriate court officer which evidences
    17  correction of the problem.
    18     Section 2.  The addition of 75 Pa.C.S. § 4107(e) shall apply

     1  to citations issued on or after the effective date of this act.
     2     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
