AN ACT 1 Making an appropriation APPROPRIATIONS to the Pennsylvania <-- 2 College of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 SECTION 1. THE SUM OF $661,000 IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED TO THE <-- 6 PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE, PHILADELPHIA, FOR 7 THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1992, TO JUNE 30, 1993, FOR INSTRUCTION 8 IN THE DOCTOR OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE PROGRAM. 9 Section 1 2. The sum of $1,321,000 $991,000 is hereby <-- 10 appropriated to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, 11 Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1, 1993, to June 30, 12 1994, for instruction in the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine 13 program. 14 Section 2 3. Payments to the Pennsylvania College of <-- 15 Podiatric Medicine on account of the appropriation provided in 16 section 1 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education <--
1 on the basis of costs during the fiscal year.: <-- 2 (1) SECTION 1 SHALL BE MADE IN A LUMP SUM BY THE 3 SECRETARY OF EDUCATION. 4 (2) SECTION 2 SHALL BE MADE QUARTERLY BY THE SECRETARY 5 OF EDUCATION ON THE BASIS OF COSTS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. 6 Section 3 4. The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine <-- 7 shall provide full, complete and accurate information as may be 8 required by the Department of Education or the majority chairman 9 or the minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the 10 Senate or the majority chairman or the minority chairman of the 11 Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives. 12 Section 4 5. The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine <-- 13 shall report its revenues and expenditures and present its 14 financial statements in accordance with generally accepted 15 accounting principles and procedures for educational 16 institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education Finance 17 Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget 18 Instructions for the State System of Higher Education, State- 19 Related Universities and Non-State-Related Colleges and 20 Universities." 21 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1993, or <-- 22 immediately, whichever is later. 23 SECTION 6. THE PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE <-- 24 SHALL REPORT ON FORMS PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO 25 BOTH THE MAJORITY AND MINORITY CHAIRS OF THE SENATE AND HOUSE 26 APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEES BY SEPTEMBER 30, 1994, ON HOW STATE- 27 APPROPRIATED FUNDS WERE EXPENDED FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-1994 TO 28 REDUCE THE COSTS TO PENNSYLVANIA-RESIDENT STUDENTS OR TO PROVIDE 29 SERVICES TO PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS. 30 SECTION 7. THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT AS FOLLOWS: 19930S0772B1364 - 2 -
