A RESOLUTION 1 Memorializing Congress to support an amendment to the United 2 States Constitution to restore voluntary prayer in the public 3 school system. 4 WHEREAS, Many schools in this Commonwealth have decided not 5 to have prayer at graduations; and 6 WHEREAS, The number of people who object to prayer in public 7 schools is less than the number who support it; and 8 WHEREAS, A small minority should not be able to stop the 9 majority from a simple expression of religious belief; therefore 10 be it 11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 12 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize Congress to support an 13 amendment to the United States Constitution to restore voluntary 14 prayer in the public school system; and be it further 15 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to 16 the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each 17 member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
