AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for a limited use registration plate for
3 customized vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes
7 is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 1340.2. Customized vehicle plate.
9 (a) General rule.--Upon submission by a vehicle owner of
10 information satisfactory to the department that a motorcycle or
11 motor vehicle is a customized vehicle, accompanied by a fee of
12 $50, the department may issue special plates for the motorcycle
13 or vehicle. No annual registration fee may be charged for
14 customized motorcycles or motor vehicles.
15 (b) Use of plates.--It is unlawful for any person to operate
16 a motorcycle or vehicle with customized vehicle registration
17 plates for general daily transportation. Permitted use shall be
18 limited to participation in club activities, exhibits, tours,
1 parades, occasional transportation and similar uses. Occasional
2 transportation shall mean no more than one day per week.
3 (c) Definition.--As used in this section, the phrase
4 "customized vehicle" means a specially constructed or
5 reconstructed vehicle that is of significant value to the
6 collector or exhibitor.
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
