AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, requiring firearms to be sold with
3 trigger locks.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 6111 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 6111. Sale of firearms.

10 (b.1) Safety devices.--
11 (1) No seller shall deliver a firearm to the purchaser
12 thereof without a trigger lock or similar device which
13 prevents the firearm from discharging. It is not necessary
14 that the locking device be on the firearm when sold.
15 (2) A violation of this subsection constitutes a
16 misdemeanor of the third degree.
