AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for billing for service to
3 fire hydrants.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 1328. Service to fire hydrants.
9 In lieu of billing a municipality for providing service to
10 fire hydrants, a public utility that furnishes water to the
11 public shall calculate the rate for providing service to all
12 fire hydrants within the municipality and shall assess all
13 customers within the municipality a pro rata share of the charge
14 for providing service to the fire hydrants.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
