AN ACT
1 Requiring school districts to provide the Department of
2 Education with information relating to incidents of crime on
3 school property.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Definitions.
7 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
8 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
9 context clearly indicates otherwise:
10 "Department." The Department of Education of the
11 Commonwealth.
12 Section 2. Crime incident procedure for school districts.
13 Each school district shall report to the department every
14 crime incident that occurs on school property.
15 Section 3. Crime incident procedure for department.
16 The department shall maintain statistical records of the
17 crime incidents as reported under section 2. This information
1 shall be available to the public.
2 Section 4. Crime statistic report format.
3 Each school district shall report, to the department on a
4 form and in the format required by the Pennsylvania State
5 Police, incidents of crime on school property.
6 Section 5. Effective date.
7 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
