AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, upgrading the penalty for the sale or
3 lease of weapons and explosives.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 6302 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 6302. Sale or lease of weapons and explosives.
9 (a) Offense defined.--A person [is guilty of a misdemeanor
10 of the first degree] commits a felony of the third degree if he
11 sells or causes to be sold or leases to any person under 18
12 years of age any deadly weapon, cartridge, gunpowder, or other
13 similar dangerous explosive substance.
14 (b) Exception.--The provisions of subsection (a) shall not
15 prohibit hunting by minors under 18 years of age permitted under
16 Title 34 (relating to game).
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
