AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
2 act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
3 welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for parental
4 notification.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
8 as the Public Welfare Code, is amended by adding a section to
9 read:
10 Section 1081. Parental Notification.--A child day care
11 facility shall provide a parent with a written notification of
12 the facility's intent to no longer provide care for that
13 parent's child. The written notification shall be hand-delivered
14 to the parent at least two weeks prior to the last day of care
15 intended to be provided to the child. In addition, the
16 notification shall indicate the reason given by the facility for
17 the decision to discontinue care for the child as well as the
18 last date upon which the facility shall provide care for the
19 child.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
