AN ACT
1 Amending the act of May 27, 1953 (P.L.244, No.34), entitled "An
2 act relating to and regulating the contracts of incorporated
3 towns and providing penalties," further providing for
4 contracts; and making a repeal.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 2(d)(2) of the act of May 27, 1953
8 (P.L.244, No.34), entitled "An act relating to and regulating
9 the contracts of incorporated towns and providing penalties,"
10 amended July 10, 1990 (P.L.392, No.93), is amended to read:
11 Section 2. Regulation of Contracts.--* * *
12 (d) The contracts or purchases made by council [involving an
13 expenditure of over ten thousand dollars], which shall not
14 require advertising [or], bidding or price quotations as
15 hereinbefore provided, are as follows:

17 (2) Those made for improvements, repairs and maintenance of
18 any kind made or provided by any incorporated town through its
1 own employes: Provided, That all materials used for street
2 improvement, maintenance and/or construction in excess of [ten
3 thousand dollars] four thousand dollars be subject to the
4 relevant price quotation or advertising requirements contained
5 herein.

7 Section 2. Section 3.1 of the act is repealed.
8 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
