                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for issuance of institutional
     3     licenses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 2708 of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 2708.  Institutional licenses.
     9     Any resident of this Commonwealth who is a resident patient
    10  in [a Commonwealth owned and supported] an institution for
    11  mental disability, geriatric center, tubercular hospital or
    12  county home or hospital, or any veteran who is a patient in a
    13  United States Government Veterans' Administration Hospital or in
    14  a State veterans' home, or who is a juvenile of a State youth
    15  development center or forestry camp, and who may benefit from
    16  recreational fishing during the course of treatment,
    17  rehabilitation or hospitalization may be issued a resident


     1  fishing license without paying a license fee. Licenses
     2  authorized by this section may be issued by the superintendent
     3  or chief medical officer of the institution who shall sign an
     4  affidavit certifying that recreational fishing may be of benefit
     5  to the rehabilitation of the patient and that the patient is an
     6  inpatient of the institution. The affidavits, and records of the
     7  number and to whom the licenses were issued, shall be forwarded
     8  to the commission on such forms as the commission shall provide.
     9  The commission may revoke license issuing privileges of any
    10  institution for failure to comply with any provisions of this
    11  chapter or regulations promulgated thereunder.
    12     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
