AN ACT 1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 2 Statutes, requiring roadspray suppressor devices on vehicles. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated 6 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: 7 § 4537. Roadspray suppressor devices. 8 (a) Trucks and other heavy vehicles.--On or before November 9 1, 1993, every truck, trailer and truck tractor driven on a 10 highway in this Commonwealth shall have roadspray suppressor 11 devices installed and in proper operating order. The devices 12 shall be installed to minimize the amount of roadspray from rain 13 or snow which can be deposited on windshields of other vehicles 14 by the tires of the truck, trailer or truck tractor. 15 (b) New vehicles.--On or before December 31, 1994, every new 16 vehicle registered in this Commonwealth shall be equipped with 17 roadspray suppressor devices for the purpose set forth in
1 subsection (a). 2 (c) Vehicles owned by the Commonwealth or a political 3 subdivision.--On or before December 31, 1995, every vehicle 4 owned by the Commonwealth or any of its political subdivisions 5 shall have roadspray suppressor devices installed and in proper 6 operating order for the purpose set forth in subsection (a). 7 (d) Penalty.--The owner of a vehicle which is driven in this 8 Commonwealth in violation of this section commits a summary 9 offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine 10 of up to $50. 11 Section 2.
