                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4     Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $4,689,000 is hereby appropriated
     5  to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year
     6  July 1, 1992, to June 30, 1993, for instruction in the Doctor of
     7  Medicine program.
     8     (b)  The sum of $856,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     9  Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
    10  1992, to June 30, 1993, for the general maintenance of the
    11  Hahnemann University, including the Allied Health, Professions
    12  and Graduate School of the Hahnemann University, and student
    13  aid.
    14     (c)  The sum of $300,000 is hereby appropriated to the
    15  Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
    16  1992, to June 30, 1993, for minority educational and recruitment
    17  programs.

     1     Section 2.  Payments to the Hahnemann University on account
     2  of the appropriations provided in section 1 shall be made
     3  quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of costs
     4  during the fiscal year.
     5     Section 3.  The Hahnemann University shall provide full,
     6  complete and accurate information as may be required by the
     7  Department of Education or the Majority Chairman or the Minority
     8  Chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the
     9  Majority Chairman or the Minority Chairman of the Appropriations
    10  Committee of the House of Representatives.
    11     Section 4.  The Hahnemann University shall report its
    12  revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
    13  in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
    14  procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
    15  "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
    16  of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
    17  Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-
    18  Related Colleges and Universities."
    19     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1992, or
    20  immediately, whichever is later.
