A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the week of September 13 through 19, 1992, as "Adult
2 Day Care Week" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, Pennsylvania has 200 adult day-care centers; and
4 WHEREAS, The average daily attendance of Pennsylvania's day-
5 care centers is over 4,000, with a total enrollment of
6 approximately 6,000; and
7 WHEREAS, The majority of the persons in adult day care are
8 individuals who have been diagnosed with some sort of cognitive
9 brain dysfunction, either Alzheimer's disease or organic brain
10 syndrome; and
11 WHEREAS, Adult day care is becoming an alternative to nursing
12 homes; therefore be it
13 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania
1 designate the week of September 13 through 19, 1992, as "Adult
2 Day Care Week" in Pennsylvania.
