        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, FEBRUARY 5, 1992

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing the President and Congress to impose the same
     2     restrictions on Japanese imports as the Japanese impose on
     3     United States exports to Japan.

     4     WHEREAS, Tariffs and restrictions imposed on American-made
     5  exports by the Japanese make it exceedingly difficult for United
     6  States manufacturers to sell their products in Japan; and
     7     WHEREAS, The United States has traditionally granted the
     8  Japanese an open door to sell their products in this country;
     9  and
    10     WHEREAS, The moment has arrived for the United States to
    11  remedy the glaring inequity in trade practices between Japan and
    12  this country; therefore be it
    13     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    14  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the President and
    15  Congress to impose the same restrictions on Japanese imports as

     1  the Japanese impose on United States exports to Japan; and be it
     2  further
     3     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     4  the President, presiding officers of each house of Congress and
     5  to each member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
