AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 28, 1967 (P.L.122, No.32), entitled "An 2 act authorizing and empowering city treasurers of cities of 3 the second class A to sell at public sale, lands or real 4 estate upon which the taxes, assessed and levied by the city, 5 are delinquent and unpaid; fixing the interests of all taxing 6 authorities where such lands are purchased by the city; 7 providing for the distribution of moneys received as income 8 from or resale of such lands; and providing for a method of 9 reselling such lands purchased, by the city, or by the city 10 at any sale for the nonpayment of taxes, free and clear of 11 all mortgages, ground rents, interest in or claims against 12 said lands; authorizing an agreement between cities of the 13 second class A purchasing property at treasurer's sales and 14 all other taxing authorities having an interest in such lands 15 with respect to the distribution of rents, income and the 16 proceeds of the resale of such lands," authorizing certain 17 county treasurers to publicly sell property upon which taxes 18 have not been paid and have become delinquent. 19 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 20 hereby enacts as follows: 21 Section 1. Section 1 of the act of June 28, 1967 (P.L.122, 22 No.32), entitled "An act authorizing and empowering city 23 treasurers of cities of the second class A to sell at public 24 sale, lands or real estate upon which the taxes, assessed and 25 levied by the city, are delinquent and unpaid; fixing the
1 interests of all taxing authorities where such lands are 2 purchased by the city; providing for the distribution of moneys 3 received as income from or resale of such lands; and providing 4 for a method of reselling such lands purchased, by the city, or 5 by the city at any sale for the nonpayment of taxes, free and 6 clear of all mortgages, ground rents, interest in or claims 7 against said lands; authorizing an agreement between cities of 8 the second class A purchasing property at treasurer's sales and 9 all other taxing authorities having an interest in such lands 10 with respect to the distribution of rents, income and the 11 proceeds of the resale of such lands," is amended to read: 12 Section 1. In addition to the remedies now provided by law 13 for the collection of delinquent city taxes, the [city 14 treasurers of] county treasurer of a county in which cities of 15 the second class A of this Commonwealth [are hereby authorized 16 and empowered to] are located may sell at public sale, in the 17 manner hereinafter provided, property upon which the taxes, 18 assessed and levied, have not been paid and have become 19 delinquent. Such sales shall be made on the first Monday in June 20 in the year succeeding the year in which the respective taxes 21 are assessed and levied, or on any day to which such sale may be 22 adjourned, or on any first Monday of June in any succeeding 23 year. 24 Section 2.
