                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," further providing for reimbursement
     6     payments to community colleges.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 1913-A(b) of the act of March 10, 1949
    10  (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949,
    11  amended October 20, 1988 (P.L.827, No.110), is amended to read:
    12     Section 1913-A.  Financial Program; Reimbursement or
    13  Payments.--* * *
    14     (b)  (1)  The Commonwealth shall pay to a community college
    15  on behalf of the sponsor on account of its operating costs
    16  during the [fiscal year] 1991-1992 fiscal year and each fiscal
    17  year thereafter from funds appropriated for that purpose an


     1  amount equal to one-third of such college's approved operating
     2  costs [not to exceed three thousand dollars ($3,000)] per
     3  student multiplied by the number of equivalent full-time
     4  students determined by an audit to be made in a manner
     5  prescribed by the State Board of Education. In no case shall
     6  such reimbursement be less than nine hundred fifty dollars
     7  ($950) per full-time equivalent student or greater than one
     8  thousand fifty dollars ($1,050) per full-time equivalent
     9  student. In each subsequent fiscal year, the minimum and maximum
    10  reimbursement amount of approved operating expenses shall be
    11  increased by the same percentage increase from the previous
    12  fiscal year in the community college line item in the General
    13  Fund budget as approved by the General Assembly and signed by
    14  the Governor.
