                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for general requirements for
     3     school buses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4552(d) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4552.  General requirements for school buses.
     9     * * *
    10     (d)  Seating.--Adequate seating space of safe design and
    11  construction shall be provided for each passenger and no
    12  passenger shall be carried for which adequate seating space is
    13  not available and used. All seats except the driver's seat shall
    14  face the rear of the bus.

    16     Section 2.  This act shall apply to school buses now in
    17  service and to school buses placed in service hereafter.
    18     Section 3.  This act shall take effect September 1, 1994.
