                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4     Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $3,908,000 is hereby appropriated
     5  to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year
     6  July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, for instruction in the Doctor of
     7  Medicine program. The final payment totaling no less than 25% of
     8  this appropriation is contingent on the Secretary of Education
     9  certifying to the General Assembly that the Hahnemann University
    10  has fully cooperated in the Department of Education's efforts to
    11  fulfill the requirements of the higher education accountability
    12  appropriation to the Department of Education.
    13     (b)  The sum of $713,000 is hereby appropriated to the
    14  Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
    15  1991, to June 30, 1992, for the general maintenance of the
    16  Hahnemann University, including the Allied Health, Professions
    17  and Graduate School of the Hahnemann University, and student

     1  aid.
     2     Section 2.  Payments to the Hahnemann University on account
     3  of the appropriations provided in section 1 shall be made
     4  quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of costs
     5  during the fiscal year.
     6     Section 3.  The Hahnemann University shall provide full,
     7  complete and accurate information as may be required by the
     8  Department of Education or the Majority Chairman or the Minority
     9  Chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the
    10  Majority Chairman or the Minority Chairman of the Appropriations
    11  Committee of the House of Representatives.
    12     Section 4.  The Hahnemann University shall report its
    13  revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
    14  in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
    15  procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
    16  "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
    17  of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
    18  Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-
    19  Related Colleges and Universities."
    20     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1991, or
    21  immediately, whichever is later.
