                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for release of child
     3     abuse records to law enforcement officials.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 6340(a)(9) of Title 23 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, added December 19, 1990
     8  (P.L.    , No.206), is amended to read:
     9  § 6340.  Release of information in confidential reports.
    10     (a)  General rule.--Reports specified in section 6339
    11  (relating to confidentiality of reports) shall only be made
    12  available to:

    14         (9)  Law enforcement officials of any jurisdiction in the
    15     course of investigating [cases of:

     1             (i)  Homicide, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or
     2         serious bodily injury perpetrated by persons whether or
     3         not related to the victim.
     4             (ii)  Child abuse perpetrated by persons who are not
     5         family members.
     6             (iii)  Repeated physical injury to a child under
     7         circumstances which indicate that the child's health or
     8         welfare is harmed or threatened] a crime against a child
     9         or a missing child report to which the reports may be
    10         relevant.

    12     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
