                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of April 12, 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), entitled, as
     2     reenacted, "An act relating to alcoholic liquors, alcohol and
     3     malt and brewed beverages; amending, revising, consolidating
     4     and changing the laws relating thereto; regulating and
     5     restricting the manufacture, purchase, sale, possession,
     6     consumption, importation, transportation, furnishing, holding
     7     in bond, holding in storage, traffic in and use of alcoholic
     8     liquors, alcohol and malt and brewed beverages and the
     9     persons engaged or employed therein; defining the powers and
    10     duties of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; providing
    11     for the establishment and operation of State liquor stores,
    12     for the payment of certain license fees to the respective
    13     municipalities and townships, for the abatement of certain
    14     nuisances and, in certain cases, for search and seizure
    15     without warrant; prescribing penalties and forfeitures;
    16     providing for local option, and repealing existing laws,"
    17     providing for boxing and wrestling events; and making a
    18     repeal.

    19     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    20  hereby enacts as follows:
    21     Section 1.  The act of April 12, 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), known
    22  as the Liquor Code, reenacted and amended June 29, 1987 (P.L.32,
    23  No.14), is amended by adding a section to read:
    24     Section 478.  Boxing and Wrestling Events.--A hotel,
    25  restaurant or club licensed to sell liquor or malt or brewed


     1  beverages may permit to be held within the licensed premises, or
     2  in an area adjacent to the licensed premises, a boxing or
     3  wrestling contest or exhibition conducted pursuant to applicable
     4  law. The licensee may advertise the event and offer an award or
     5  permit the award of a trophy, prize or premium. Malt or brewed
     6  beverages may be served, sold or delivered at these events and
     7  shall be dispensed in paper or plastic cups. Sales of malt or
     8  brewed beverages under this section shall be made in accordance
     9  with the provisions of this act relating to the sale of malt or
    10  brewed beverages by hotel, restaurant or club licensees, as
    11  applicable.
    12     Section 2.  Section 3(b) of the act of February 28, 1985
    13  (P.L.1, No.1), entitled "An act amending the act of April 12,
    14  1951 (P.L.90, No.21), entitled 'An act relating to alcoholic
    15  liquors, alcohol and malt and brewed beverages; amending,
    16  revising, consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto;
    17  regulating and restricting the manufacture, purchase, sale,
    18  possession, consumption, importation, transportation,
    19  furnishing, holding in bond, holding in storage, traffic in and
    20  use of alcoholic liquors, alcohol and malt and brewed beverages
    21  and the persons engaged or employed therein; defining the powers
    22  and duties of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; providing
    23  for the establishment and operation of State liquor stores, for
    24  the payment of certain license fees to the respective
    25  municipalities and townships, for the abatement of certain
    26  nuisances and, in certain cases, for search and seizure without
    27  warrant; prescribing penalties and forfeitures; providing for
    28  local option, and repealing existing laws,' further providing
    29  for Sunday sales; repealing provisions authorizing certain
    30  tournaments or contests; and reinstating certain regulations,"

     1  is repealed insofar as it is inconsistent with the addition of
     2  section 478 of the act.
     3     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
