AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown:
13 Federal State
14 (1) For the salaries, wages
15 and all necessary expenses for the
16 proper operation and administration
17 of the Pennsylvania Public Utility
18 Commission, excluding the chairman
1 and commissioners and the Bureau of
2 Safety and Enforcement.
3 State appropriation........ $26,559,000
4 (i) The following Federal
5 augmentation amounts, or as
6 much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically
8 appropriated to supplement the
9 sum authorized to be billed to
10 utilities for the operation of
11 the commission:
12 (A) "Natural Gas
13 Pipeline Safety" - To
14 enforce the regulations of
15 the Natural Gas Pipeline
16 Safety Act.
17 Federal appropriation...... 100,000
18 Any Federal funds which the
19 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
20 receives pursuant to these
21 appropriations shall not be credited
22 to any utility nor used to lower the
23 annual assessment of any utility.
24 For the salaries, wages and all
25 necessary expenses for the chairman
26 and the commissioners.
27 State appropriation........ 475,000
28 For the salaries, wages and all
29 necessary expenses for the proper
30 operation and administration of the

1 Bureau of Safety and Enforcement.
2 State appropriation........ 4,739,000
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1991, or
4 immediately, whichever is later.
