A RESOLUTION
1 Congratulating the Penn State fencing team on winning the NCAA
2 men's and women's combined championships.
3 WHEREAS, At the recent competition in South Bend, Indiana,
4 the Penn State men's and women's fencing teams combined to win
5 the NCAA championships; and
6 WHEREAS, This title is the first of its kind since the
7 reorganization of the NCAA tournament; and
8 WHEREAS, By combining results from the women's foil team and
9 the men's foil, sabre and epee squads, the Lions roared to the
10 national title, shutting down Notre Dame, Columbia and Temple;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, Through tireless and dedicated training and under
13 the capable instruction of Coach Emmanuil G. Kaidanov, who was
14 selected as the national coach of the year by his peers, and
15 assistant coach Wieslaw R. Glon the Nittany Lions and Lady Lions
16 fencing teams have brought additional honors to the university
17 and to our Commonwealth; therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
2 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania congratulate the Penn State fencing
3 team on winning the NCAA combined championships; and be it
4 further
5 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
6 Coach Emmanuil G. Kaidanov and Assistant Coach Wieslaw R. Glon.
