AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing safe driving discounts for assigned risk
3 driver rates.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1743 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1743. Rates.
9 (a) General rule.--All rates for the Assigned Risk Plan
10 shall be subject to the act of June 11, 1947 (P.L.538, No.246),
11 known as The Casualty and Surety Rate Regulatory Act, and shall
12 not be inadequate, excessive or unfairly discriminatory.
13 (b) Discounts.--Rates charged by insurers shall be reduced
14 by 30% for assigned risk drivers who maintain a safe driving
15 record for one year and an additional 30% for maintaining a safe
16 driving record for a second consecutive year.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
