AN ACT 1 Authorizing and directing the Department of General Services, 2 with the approval of The General State Authority to convey to 3 the City of Philadelphia a tract of land, with improvements 4 thereon, in the City of Philadelphia. 5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 6 hereby enacts as follows: 7 Section 1. The Department of General Services, with the 8 approval of The General State Authority is hereby authorized and 9 directed on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant 10 and convey to the City of Philadelphia property described 11 hereinafter in consideration of receipt from the city of funds 12 sufficient to retire the outstanding debt incurred by The 13 General State Authority with respect to such property. This 14 property is that tract of land, with improvements thereon, 15 situate in the City of Philadelphia and bounded and described as 16 follows: 17 Beginning at a point on the northwesterly side of Broad 18 Street (113 feet wide) which point is measured northeastwardly
1 along the said northwesterly side of Broad Street the distance 2 of 120 feet more or less from a point formed by an intersection 3 of the said northwesterly side of Broad Street and the 4 northeasterly side of Diamond Street (70 feet wide); thence 5 extending from said point of beginning northwestwardly the 6 distance of 138 feet, 7 inches more or less to a point; thence 7 extending northeastwardly the distance of 2 1/4 inches more or 8 less to a point; thence extending northwestwardly the distance 9 of 61 feet, 5 inches more or less to a point on the 10 southeasterly side of Carlisle Street (40 feet wide); thence 11 extending northeastwardly along the said southeasterly side of 12 Carlisle Street the distance of 304 feet, 9 3/4 inches more or 13 less to a point on the southwesterly side of a 3 feet wide alley 14 (which extends southeastwardly communicating with various width 15 alleys); thence extending southeastwardly partly along the 16 southwesterly side of the said 3 feet wide alley the distance of 17 200 feet more or less to a point on the said northwesterly side 18 of Broad Street; thence extending southwestwardly along the said 19 northwesterly side of Broad Street the distance of 305 feet, 20 more or less to a point, being the first mentioned point and 21 place of beginning. 22 Section 2. The conveyance shall be made under and subject to 23 all easements, servitudes and rights of others, including, but 24 not confined to, streets, roadways and rights of any telephone, 25 telegraph, water, electric, sewer, gas or pipeline companies, as 26 well as under and subject to any interest, estates or tenancies 27 vested in third persons, whether or not appearing of record, for 28 any portion of the land or improvements erected thereon. 29 Section 3. The deed of conveyance shall contain a clause 30 that the land conveyed, and any improvements thereon which may 19900H2620B3601 - 2 -
1 be erected from time to time, shall be used for public purposes 2 and, if at any time the City of Philadelphia or its successor in 3 function conveys said property or permits said property to be 4 used for any purpose other than that specified in this section, 5 the title thereto shall immediately revert to and revest in the 6 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 7 Section 4. The deed of conveyance shall be approved as 8 provided by law and shall be executed by the Secretary of 9 General Services in the name of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 10 and The General State Authority. 11 Section 5. Costs and fees incidental to this conveyance 12 shall be borne by the grantee. 13 Section 6. This act shall take effect immediately. E22L85DGS/19900H2620B3601 - 3 -
