AN ACT
1 Appropriating and transferring amounts from the State Workmen's
2 Insurance Fund to the Treasury Department.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3, THE <--
6 following sums, or as much thereof as may be necessary, are
7 hereby appropriated from the State Workmen's Insurance Fund for
8 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1989:
9 (1) The sum of $25,000,000 is appropriated to the
10 Treasury Department for transfer to the Sunny Day Fund.
11 (2) The sum of $25,000,000 is appropriated to the
12 Treasury Department for transfer to the Tax Stabilization
13 Reserve Fund.
14 (3) The sum of $25,000,000 is appropriated to the
15 Treasury Department for transfer to the General Fund.
16 Section 2. No funds required to meet specific statutory
1 obligations under the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.762, No.340),
2 referred to as the State Workmen's Insurance Fund Law, shall be
3 transferred under section 1 in any fiscal year.
4 SECTION 3. PRIOR TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SECTION 1, THE <--
5 STATE WORKMEN'S INSURANCE BOARD SHALL MAKE A DETERMINATION AS TO
6 WHETHER THE FUNDS APPROPRIATED IN SECTION 1 VIOLATE SECTION 2.
7 Section 3 4. This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or <--
8 immediately, whichever is later.
