AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Wistar Institute-Research,
2 Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $246,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Wistar Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal
7 year July 1, 1989, to June 30, 1990, for the operation and
8 maintenance of the institute. Payment of this appropriation
9 shall be made by the Secretary of Health in equal quarterly
10 payments.
11 (b) The sum of $106,000 is hereby appropriated to the Wistar
12 Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
13 1989, to June 30, 1990, for research on acquired immune
14 deficiency syndrome.
15 Section 2. The Wistar Institute shall provide such
16 information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of
17 this act and in such form and manner as the Department of Health
1 shall prescribe.
2 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or
3 immediately, whichever is later.
