THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF PENNSYLVANIA


HOUSE BILL

        AS RE-REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 26, 1989

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Pennsylvania College of
     2     Optometry, Philadelphia.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The sum of $1,553,000 $1,662,000 is hereby         <--
     6  appropriated to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry,
     7  Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1, 1989, to June 30,
     8  1990, for instruction.
     9     Section 2.  Payments to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry
    10  on account of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be
    11  made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of
    12  costs during the fiscal year.
    13     Section 3.  The Pennsylvania College of Optometry shall
    14  provide such information as may be necessary to carry out the
    15  provisions of this act and in such form and manner as the
    16  Department of Education shall prescribe.
    17     Section 4.  The Pennsylvania College of Optometry shall

     1  report its revenues and expenditures and present its financial
     2  statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting
     3  principles and procedures for educational institutions as set
     4  forth in the "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the
     5  "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State
     6  System of Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-
     7  State-Related Colleges and Universities."
     8     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or
     9  immediately, whichever is later.
