        AS RE-REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, JUNE 26, 1989

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4     Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $4,869,000 $5,210,000 is hereby    <--
     5  appropriated to the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the
     6  fiscal year July 1, 1989, to June 30, 1990, for instruction in
     7  the Doctor of Medicine program.
     8     (b)  The sum of $702,000 $751,000 is hereby appropriated to    <--
     9  the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July
    10  1, 1989, to June 30, 1990, for the general maintenance of the
    11  Hahnemann University, including the Allied Health, Professions
    12  and Graduate School of the Hahnemann University, and student
    13  aid.
    14     Section 2.  Payments to the Hahnemann University on account
    15  of the appropriations provided in section 1 shall be made
    16  quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the basis of costs


     1  during the fiscal year.
     2     Section 3.  The Hahnemann University shall provide such
     3  information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of
     4  this act and in such form and manner as the Department of
     5  Education shall prescribe.
     6     Section 4.  The Hahnemann University shall report its
     7  revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
     8  in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
     9  procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
    10  "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
    11  of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
    12  Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-
    13  Related Colleges and Universities."
    14     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or
    15  immediately, whichever is later.
