AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Trustees of the University of
2 Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
6 necessary, are hereby appropriated to the Trustees of the
7 University of Pennsylvania for the fiscal year July 1, 1989, to
8 June 30, 1990, for the purposes and in the amounts as shown:
9 (1) For instruction, excluding Veterinary
10 Medicine programs and Doctor of Medicine.......... 16,633,000
11 (2) For dental clinics........................ 1,077,000 <--
12 (2) FOR DENTAL CLINICS........................ 1,067,000 <--
13 (3) For instruction in the Doctor of Medicine
14 program........................................... 4,596,000
15 (4) For instruction in Veterinary Medicine
16 programs only..................................... 8,005,000
1 (5) For the New Bolton Animal Center.......... 3,755,000
2 (6) For the Center for Animal Health and
3 Productivity...................................... 1,234,000
4 (7) For food and animal clinics and services.. 2,022,000
5 Section 2. Payments to the University of Pennsylvania on
6 account of the appropriations for the items provided in section
7 1 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
8 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
9 Section 3. The University of Pennsylvania shall provide such
10 information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of
11 this act and in such form and manner as the Department of
12 Education shall prescribe.
13 Section 4. The University of Pennsylvania shall report its
14 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
15 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
16 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
17 "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
18 of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
19 Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-
20 Related Colleges and Universities."
21 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or
22 immediately, whichever is later.
