        AS RE-REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, APRIL 13, 1988

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management  <--
     2     Agency to upgrade the State fire training facility at
     3     Lewistown.
     4  PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF              <--
     5     TRANSPORTATION BY EXECUTIVE AUTHORIZATION OF THE GOVERNOR FOR
     6     CERTAIN COSTS INCURRED IN PROCESSING CERTAIN DOCUMENTS.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  The sum of $1,535,000 is hereby appropriated to    <--
    10  the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency to be allocated
    11  through the Office of Fire Safety for the following purposes:
    12         (1)  Renovations to the fire training
    13     building at Lewistown..........................      $500,000
    14         (2)  Replacement of water filtration system
    15     at the Lewistown fire training facility........      $175,000
    16         (3)  Purchase of training vehicles for the
    17     State fire training facility at Lewistown
    18     including:
    19             Combination ladder/platform vehicle

     1         with large volume pump, complement of
     2         ground ladders and diesel engine...........      $500,000
     3             Fire pumper............................      $250,000
     4             Rescue equipment, air cascade,
     5         hazardous materials support vehicle........       $75,000
     6             Mid size, equipment carrying van.......       $20,000
     7             Four vehicle drive snow removal,
     8         trailer towing tractor.....................       $15,000
     9     Section 2.  The funds appropriated pursuant to section 1 of
    10  this act shall be committed for expenditure within one year of
    11  the effective date of this act.
    12     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1987, or
    13  immediately, whichever is later.
    14  SECTION 1.  REIMBURSEMENT.                                        <--
    15     THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR
    16  COSTS FOR SERVICES INCURRED IN THE PROCESSING OF SALES TAX
    17  DOCUMENTS COMMENCING WITH THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1988, TO JUNE
    18  30, 1989, AND EACH FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER. THESE FUNDS SHALL BE
    19  PAID FROM THE GENERAL FUND UPON EXECUTIVE AUTHORIZATION BY THE
    20  GOVERNOR MADE TO THE TREASURY DEPARTMENT FOR SUCH PURPOSE.
    21  SECTION 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.
    22     THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
