           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 15, 1987

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations from the Workmen's Compensation             <--
     2     Administration Fund to the Department of Labor and Industry
     3     to provide for the expenses of administering The Pennsylvania
     4     Workmen's Compensation Act and The Pennsylvania Occupational
     5     Disease Act for the fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30,
     6     1988, and for the payment of bills incurred and remaining
     7     unpaid at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1987.
     8  MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES OUT   <--
     9     OF VARIOUS FUNDS FOR PAYMENT OF RENTAL CHARGES TO THE GENERAL
    10     STATE AUTHORITY.

    11     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    12  hereby enacts as follows:
    13     Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $12,225,000, or as much thereof    <--
    14  as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the Workmen's
    15  Compensation Administration Fund to the Department of Labor and
    16  Industry for the payment of all salaries, wages and other
    17  compensation and travel expenses, for contractual services and
    18  other expenses necessary for the administration of the act of
    19  June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known as The Pennsylvania
    20  Workmen's Compensation Act and the act of June 21, 1939


     1  (P.L.566, No.284), known as The Pennsylvania Occupational
     2  Disease Act, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1987, and for
     3  the payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid at the close
     4  of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1987.
     5     (b)  It is the intent of the General Assembly that the filled
     6  complement level of workmen's compensation referees be increased
     7  to at least 55 and that sufficient support personnel be provided
     8  for the referees so that the time for consideration of contested
     9  workmen's compensation cases is reduced and the present backlog
    10  of cases are brought to decision.
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1987, or
    12  immediately, whichever is later.
    13     SECTION 1.  THE FOLLOWING SUMS ARE HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF  <--
    14  THE FUNDS INDICATED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES FOR
    15  THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1987, TO JUNE 30, 1988, FOR PAYMENT OF
    16  RENTAL CHARGES TO THE GENERAL STATE AUTHORITY:
    17     OUT OF THE FISH FUND..................................$68,000
    18     OUT OF THE BOAT FUND...................................12,000
    19     SECTION 2.  THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1987, OR
    20  IMMEDIATELY, WHICHEVER IS LATER.
