REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, MAY 5, 1987
AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown:
13 Federal State
14 (1) For the salaries, wages
15 and all necessary expenses for the
16 proper operation and administration
17 of the Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission.
2 State appropriation........ $25,989,000 <--
3 STATE APPROPRIATION........ $26,494,000 <--
4 (i) The following Federal
5 augmentation amounts, or as
6 much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically
8 appropriated to supplement the
9 sum authorized to be billed to
10 utilities for the operation of
11 the commission:
12 (A) "Natural Gas
13 Pipeline Safety" - To
14 enforce the regulations of
15 the Natural Gas Pipeline
16 Safety Act.
17 Federal appropriation...... 115,000
18 (B) "Railroad Safety"
19 - For safety inspectors to
20 survey and patrol over
21 14,000 miles of trackage to
22 eliminate derailment and
23 provide safe rail travel.
24 Federal appropriation...... 185,000
25 Any Federal funds which the
26 Pennsylvania Public Utility
27 Commission receives pursuant to
28 these appropriations shall not be
29 credited to any utility nor used to
30 lower the annual assessment of any

2 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1987, or
3 immediately, whichever is later.
