        ADOPTED IN HOUSE, NOVEMBER 16, 1988

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the President and the Congress of the United States to
     2     take all steps necessary in the investigation and release of
     3     all POW's and MIA's believed held in Southeast Asia.

     4     WHEREAS, Twelve years have now elapsed since the end of the
     5  Vietnam Conflict, and over 2,400 of our servicemen still remain
     6  unaccounted for; and
     7     WHEREAS, The investigation into the status and whereabouts of
     8  prisoners of war and servicemen missing in action should be
     9  unrelenting and pursued diligently in every possible manner; and
    10     WHEREAS, Until there is a complete accounting, the families
    11  of these men who fought so bravely for our country suffer
    12  extreme grief and uncertainty; and
    13     WHEREAS, If, as some reports indicate, some of these gallant
    14  Americans continue to be held captive in Indochina, no stone
    15  should be left unturned in seeking means to obtain their
    16  release; therefore be it
    17     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    18  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge the President and the Congress
    19  of the United States to take all steps necessary in the

     1  investigation and release of all prisoners of war and servicemen
     2  missing in action in Southeast Asia; and be it further
     3     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     4  the President of the United States, to the presiding officers of
     5  each house of Congress and to each member of Congress from
     6  Pennsylvania.
