                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the valuable service performed by home health care
     2     agencies.

     3     WHEREAS, Home health care is a vital health care service
     4  available to citizens of this Commonwealth; and
     5     WHEREAS, Home health care services are given to patients
     6  regardless of their race, religion, nationality or ability to
     7  pay; and
     8     WHEREAS, Home health services enable patients to be treated
     9  at home, thereby keeping family members together; and
    10     WHEREAS, Home health care fosters more rapid recovery,
    11  earlier hospital discharge and reduced admissions to
    12  institutions; and
    13     WHEREAS, Most persons prefer to remain with their families in
    14  the comfort and security of their homes; and
    15     WHEREAS, The number and variety of treatments and therapies


     1  available to patients in their homes is increasing; and
     2     WHEREAS, There is growing evidence that home health care is
     3  an economical means of treating patients; therefore be it
     4     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim November
     5  27 through December 3, 1988, as "Home Health Care Week" and ask
     6  the citizens of this Commonwealth to do likewise in recognition
     7  and appreciation of the valuable service provided by home health
     8  care agencies.
