AN ACT
1 Directing the Department of Public Welfare to establish a day-
2 care training program for certain persons.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Program established.
6 (a) Establishment.--The Department of Public Welfare shall
7 establish a day-care training program for the purpose of
8 training individuals to provide quality day care in their homes.
9 (b) Areas of training.--The training shall include, but not
10 be limited to:
11 (1) Basic child care.
12 (2) First aid.
13 (3) State and local regulations governing child care
14 programs.
15 (c) Eligibility.--The program established under this act
16 shall be available only to individuals receiving Aid to Families
17 with Dependent Children (AFDC) grants.
1 Section 2. Other benefits.
2 In no way shall enrollment in or the establishment of a child
3 day-care program affect an individual's eligibility to receive
4 any Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) grants,
5 provided that the individual day-care center has no more than
6 five children at any time.
7 Section 3. Conformity with other requirements.
8 Any child day-care program established pursuant to this act
9 shall be required to meet all existing laws or regulations which
10 apply to day-care programs.
11 Section 4. Effective date.
12 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
