REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 6, 1988
AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University,
2 Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $5,715,000 $5,797,000 is hereby <--
6 appropriated to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia,
7 for the fiscal year July 1, 1988, to June 30, 1989, for
8 instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program.
9 (b) The sum of $4,070,000 $4,128,000 is hereby appropriated <--
10 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 1988, to June 30, 1989, for the general maintenance
12 of the Thomas Jefferson University, including the College of
13 Allied Health Sciences, student aid and Children's Heart
14 Hospital.
15 Section 2. Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on
16 account of the appropriations provided in section 1(a) and (b)
17 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
1 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
2 Section 3. The Thomas Jefferson University shall provide
3 such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions
4 of this act and in such form and manner as the Departments of
5 Education and Health shall prescribe.
6 Section 4. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its
7 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
8 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
9 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
10 "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth
11 of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of
12 Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-State-
13 Related Colleges and Universities."
14 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1988, or
15 immediately, whichever is later.
