AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for prostitution and
3 related offenses.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 5902(e) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended AND THE SECTION IS AMENDED BY <--
8 ADDING A SUBSECTION to read:
9 § 5902. Prostitution and related offenses.

11 (e) Patronizing prostitutes.--A person commits a [summary
12 offense] misdemeanor of the first THIRD degree if he hires a <--
13 [prostitute] person to engage in sexual activity with him, or if <--
14 he enters or remains in a house of prostitution or a motor
15 vehicle for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity[.] WITH A <--
16 PROSTITUTE. Upon conviction of an offense under this subsection,
17 a person shall MAY be sentenced to pay a fine of $1,000 NOT TO <--
1 EXCEED $2,500.
2 (E.1) SOLICITING FOR PROSTITUTION.--A PERSON COMMITS A <--
3 MISDEMEANOR OF THE THIRD DEGREE IF HE OFFERS TO HIRE ANOTHER
4 PERSON TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH HIM. UPON CONVICTION OF
5 AN OFFENSE UNDER THIS SUBSECTION, A PERSON MAY BE SENTENCED TO
6 PAY A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $2,500.
