                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     court divisions.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 951 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 951.  Court divisions.
     9     (a)  Philadelphia County.--The Court of Common Pleas of
    10  Philadelphia County shall have the following divisions:
    11         (1)  Trial division.
    12         (2)  Orphans' court division.
    13         (3)  Family court division.
    14         (4)  Corporate and business division.
    15     (b)  Allegheny County.--The Court of Common Pleas of
    16  Allegheny County shall have the following divisions:
    17         (1)  Civil division.
    18         (2)  Criminal division.

     1         (3)  Orphans' court division.
     2         (4)  Family division.
     3     (c)  Other separate orphans' court divisions.--The courts of
     4  common pleas of Beaver, Berks, Bucks, Cambria, Chester, Dauphin,
     5  Delaware, Erie, Fayette, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Luzerne,
     6  Montgomery, Schuylkill, Washington, Westmoreland and York
     7  counties shall each have a separate orphans' court division.
     8     (d)  Judicial districts having no separate orphans' court
     9  division.--In each judicial district having no separate orphans'
    10  court division, there shall be an orphans' court division
    11  composed of the court of common pleas of that judicial district.
    12     (e)  Change in size of divisions.--The number of judges
    13  constituting a division may be increased or reduced by order of
    14  the governing authority.
    15     (f)  Other separate corporate and business divisions.--By
    16  order of the governing authority, a corporate and business
    17  division may be established in any judicial district for which
    18  no separate corporate and business division is established under
    19  this section.
    20     Section 2.  Title 42 is amended by adding a section to read:
    21  § 954.  Business of corporate and business divisions.
    22     Unless general rules provide otherwise, the corporate and
    23  business divisions shall be responsible for transacting the
    24  business of the court of common pleas that arises under the
    25  following statutes:
    26         (1)  Title 13 (relating to commercial code), except
    27     Division 2 (relating to sales).
    28         (2)  Title 15 (relating to corporations and
    29     unincorporated associations), except that this section shall
    30     in no way be construed to affect the provisions of Pa.R.J.A.

     1     No.2156 (relating to orphans' court division).
     2         (3)  Act of May 17, 1921 (P.L.682, No.284), known as The
     3     Insurance Company Law of 1921.
     4         (4)  Act of September 20, 1961 (P.L.1548, No.658), known
     5     as the Credit Union Act.
     6         (5)  Act of September 29, 1961 (P.L.1736, No.704), known
     7     as the Uniform Securities Ownership by Minors Act.
     8         (6)  Act of November 30, 1965 (P.L.847, No.356), known as
     9     the Banking Code of 1965.
    10     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
