                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for lifetime fishing licenses for
     3     mentally retarded and physically handicapped persons.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 30 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 2708.1.  Lifetime license for mentally retarded and physically
     9             handicapped persons.
    10     A person who is mentally retarded in accordance with the
    11  definition of "mental retardation" in section 102 of the act of
    12  October 20, 1966 (3rd Sp.Sess., P.L.96, No.6), known as the
    13  Mental Health and Mental Retardation Act of 1966, or who is
    14  handicapped, as defined by the commission, shall be entitled to
    15  a resident fishing license, valid for the person's lifetime,
    16  upon payment of a fee of $10. A person who assists a person


     1  licensed under this provision is exempt from the licensing
     2  requirement. The commission is authorized to adopt regulations
     3  to carry out the provisions of this section.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
